Denver Liberty University (DLU) students are excited to announce the upcoming Resume Writing Workshop, scheduled for 28th-Oct-2024 at the DLU campus. This initiative aims to equip fellow students with essential skills for crafting effective resumes that stand out to prospective employers.
As the job market becomes increasingly competitive, the ability to present one’s skills and experiences effectively has never been more crucial. Recognizing this need, the student organizers have put together a workshop designed to guide participants through the intricacies of resume writing, ensuring they leave with a polished resume ready for job applications.
Event Details:
• What: Resume Writing Workshop
• When: October 28, 2024
• Where: Denver Liberty University
• Who: Open to all DLU students
The workshop will feature a series of engaging activities, including hands-on exercises, peer reviews, and expert tips from career services professionals. Participants will learn how to tailor their resumes to specific job applications, highlight their unique skills and achievements, and navigate common pitfalls that can hinder their job search.
“This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn how to present themselves effectively to employers,” Professor James, a senior at DLU and one of the event organizers. “We understand that writing a resume can be daunting, especially for those entering the job market for the first time. Our goal is to demystify the process and provide practical tools that can help students succeed.”
In addition to the resume writing sessions, the workshop will also include guest speakers from various industries who will share insights into what employers are looking for in potential candidates. Attendees will gain valuable perspective on the current job market trends and learn how to adapt their applications accordingly.
Moreover, the workshop aims to foster a supportive environment where students can share their experiences and network with peers. “Building connections with fellow students can often lead to job opportunities,” noted Mathew another organizer. “By working together, we can create a community of support that helps everyone succeed.”
To ensure personalized attention, the workshop will be limited to the first 50 students who register. Interested participants can sign up through the DLU student portal or by contacting the organizing committee via email.
