Nowadays, many young men and women are considering joining the military to start their careers in the service of their country. The United States Air Force is known for having a high quality of life for its members, and it might be a branch you should consider if you're passionate about serving the country and want a better quality of life at the same time.

One of the best things about the air force is that it comes with a great quality of life programs compared to other military service branches. Considering that the Air Force got a head start on using a significant portion of their funding to establish, maintain, or expand their quality of life programs, they've earned this reputation in a very time-efficient manner.

Airman (except those at technical schools and remote overseas assignments) now get a room to themselves, which may not sound like much, but if you've ever been on the other side of such an arrangement in Basic Training, you know that getting that extra bit of personal space can be a huge perk when you're just looking to hang out with your own thoughts in private or simply want some time to yourself after a long day of training.

Monthly Allowance

At the majority of the bases, the airmen who are married are provided with the choice of living whether in a family housing or off place at any place they feel more comfortable with the housing allowances on a per month basis. It is specifically very convenient for airmen with small children and also a very appealing option for the airmen who are looking forward to having a family.

Airmen that are authorized to live off-base receive a monthly food allowance, called Basic Allowance for Subsistence. Those Airmen who reside in family housing also receive this tax-free allowance. The dormitories normally do not provide any meal service, but some may have air force dining facilities, where they are served with good food.

Rebuilt Dormitories

The Air Force was the first branch of service to convert its living quarters for airmen into single-occupancy. The Air Force standard is the "4 x 4," which houses four airmen in a dorm with a shared common area, complete with a kitchen and living room. However, all airmen get their own bedroom, bathroom, and many other conveninece. At most bases, E-4s or above with at least three years of service can move off base and receive an allowance known as Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH).

And the list of these facilities goes on. The air force has so much to offer for the airmen and the quality of life there has only been getting better.
