VADODARA, INDIA — February 18, 2021 — The global pandemic has had a profound impact on all of us. Even those that haven't been infected have seen unprecedented disruptions to their everyday lives, with weighed down health systems, business shutdowns resulting in job losses, and food shortages, and much more among others. This pandemic is a clear call, reminding us to be generous and ready as a society to fight back to such challenges.
As a part of CSR activity, PCIPL is committed to helping communities in all possible ways. By supporting Karuna Setu Trust (an NGO in Vadnagar - working for various social cause), Prakash Chemicals International is building a 4 floor, 100 room Hospice, in Vadnagar with facilities for elderly patients to get their treatment. The initiative will focus on providing medical as well as mental care to elderly patients who have been abandoned or are unable to pay for their healthcare. It will also focus on the palliation of a terminally ill patient's pain and symptoms and attending to their emotional and spiritual needs at the end of life.
There is a common misconception that choosing hospice means giving up hope. The facts about hospice, however, prove otherwise. It benefits the community in many ways, like it provides a Familiar Environment, provides a Comprehensive Plan, provides Personalized Care and Support, offer Patients a Sense of Dignity, it Respects a Patient's Wishes, it Lessens Financial Burdens and also offers Family Counselling. All in all the benefits of hospice care empower patients and their caregivers.
