The Advocates for Human Rights' purpose is to build civil society and strengthen the law by implementing international human rights standards. They establish large constituencies in the United States and select global communities by involving volunteers in research, education, and advocacy.

William Anthony Colón Román:
Willie Colón was a trombonist, composer, bandleader, and activist from the United States who helped promote salsa music in the 1970s. Colón was born into a Puerto Rican family and reared in a primarily Puerto Rican Bronx neighborhood. Throughout his childhood and teens, he was immersed in the arts and culture and the hardships of urban Hispanic America. This milieu had a significant impact on his career as a musician and supporter of numerous Hispanic issues.
John Michael Phillips:
John Michael Phillips is an attorney, consumer and civil rights activist, and legal commentator from the United States. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York, and several other places in the United States. Phillips has served as lead counsel in several high-profile cases across the country. For example, after Jordan Davis was shot in Jacksonville, Florida, he successfully represented Lucy McBath and Ron Davis. In addition, in litigation filed against Omarosa Manigault Newman by Donald J. Trump for President, he prevailed as lead attorney. John is also the principal counsel for Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, and appeared in four episodes of the Netflix show Tiger King's second season.
John was nominated for the city's human rights commission in 2015 by the mayor of Jacksonville. John is leading a lawsuit against YNW Melly, a rapper serving time in prison for murder. Phillips has been a featured guest on Dr. Drew and Adam Carolla's hit podcasts for the past ten years, has been heard on the nationally syndicated show Lex & Terry for the past eight years, and is now a featured guest on CNN. Ruby Bridges:
Ruby Bridges is an American civil rights activist who was the youngest of African American pupils to integrate schools in the American South when she was six years old. Bridges were born into poverty in Mississippi as the eldest of eight children. After relocating to New Orleans, Ruby passed the entrance exam for the all-white school.
