The activities students participate in during their school years play a very important role in their lives. Co-curricular activities help in student development and are considered to be an essential part of their school life. This is because they help enhance the students' learning process while they are at school. These activities are designed in a way to create a perfect balance with the academics and ensure that each student learns beyond the normal school subjects.
Co-curricular activities are meant to bring social skills, intellectual skills, moral values, personality progress and character appeal in students. It includes athletics, cultural events, Library activities, science lab activities, classroom activities, creative arts and meditation etc.

Below mentioned are a few ways in which co-curricular activities help students:
Effective Learning

Co-curricular activities are usually combined with academics to help students learn effectively, such as computer lab and science lab experiments.
Cultural & Moral Values

Cultural, traditional and national level events take place in the school that help them learn more about their surroundings and the culture they are being brought up in, cultivating holistic values. Moreover, along with skills for personality development the students also end up learning a lot of life skills and moral and ethical values about humans living in a society. This helps them become more wholly grown individuals as adults who are understanding, empathic and helpful to those around them.

Personality Development

The co-curricular activities are made in order to sharpen the students’ communication skills as well as improve the way they express themselves, help them work on their public speaking, increase their participation in activities and give them a sense of belonging. This is done using various activities that the students can participate in such as debates, art and craft, competitions, and other classroom activities.

Physical and Mental Health

Co-curricular activities include physical activities that help students stay in a good shape such as athletics, gymnastics, and yoga to ensure their physical health is being taken care of along with the development of motor and coordination skills, and so on. They also have other indoor games and activities like chess and meditation which make sure the students stay sharp and their minds are at peace as well.

Teamwork and Leadership Skills

The co-curricular activities present in schools are made usually for groups so that students learn how to work well in a team and participate together as students and classmates. This helps build teamwork as a skill in them and helps in developing leadership skills as well.

At Asia Pacific World School we inculcate these skills in our students through a series of co-curricular activities that go alongside their regular academic curriculum. We have a lot of classroom activities, inter and intra-school competitions along with many sports and skill-building activities to ensure holistic development of each of our students. We consider these skills to be as essential as their regular academics so that they become independent and well-functioning members of the society later on in their lives.
