LHA London commits to continue operations amid COVID-19. All staff members and tenants are encouraged to practice safety measures to minimise the spread of the virus.

[London, 03/06/2020] – Like various parts of the world, the U.K. continues to work against the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Although there is debate about easing lockdown restrictions, citizens are encouraged to practice social distancing to minimise the spread of the virus.

LHA London’s Commitment

For LHA London, a leading provider of affordable accommodation, the health and safety of their residents and staff is their priority. The chain of hostels remains open for existing residents.
LHA commits to acting on advice from legitimate sources, including the NHS, Public Health England and the World Health Organization. The company takes proactive steps to make sure that their residents and staff have access to the latest news.

In line with government measures, LHA London has implemented the following actions:
• Receptions are staffed, but security windows are closed.
• Catered sites are moved to takeaway services only. Residents are asked to eat meals in their rooms.
• Buildings are maintained on an emergency work basis only.
• All gyms are closed in line with government advice.

Reminders for Residents

Residents are requested to limit their movement around the hostel. If they need to go out of their rooms, they must practice the two-metre distancing rule. They may use the self-catered sites, but only two people can use the area at a time.

LHA London also asks residents to limit their phone and email communication with the staff to emergencies. All charge payments are processed over the phone during the lockdown.
Residents who are not using LHA London as their primary residence are requested to return to their primary residence in the meantime.
