Los Angeles, USA, 16, JAN—Craig Zumwalt transports readers into a world of bone-chilling horror, life-risking adventure, and ancient creatures with Dunkle's Bones: A Movie Novel, a gripping tale of survival against a forgotten predator.
The story centers around Ned Beehoven, a boy whose life changed when the ship he was working on got destroyed by a monstrous sea creature. Now, twenty years later, Ned is a Coastal Investigations Officer in Cape Town, and his nightmares are about to return again. Eight-foot bite marks have been discovered on a millionaire's yacht, signaling a high-stakes hunt for the creature that terrorized Ned decades ago.
Joining Ned on this life-threatening search are shark expert Alexa Jennings and Professor Townson Marley, an oceanography specialist who might know a terrifying secret. The three must find the creature long believed to be extinct: a fifty-foot Dunkleosteus, a prehistoric predator from 400 million years ago.
As they begin this voyage to stop the Dunkleosteus from wreaking havoc tensions rises, mysteries unfold, and love begins to bloom. The team must contend with not only the monstrous beast but also their own fears, all while fighting graphic battles, and the looming threat of the Dunkleosteus. Their only hope rests in Professor Marley’s top-secret technology and a growing trust (or should we say, feelings) between Ned and Alexa.
Zumwalt's Dunkle's Bones is an interesting blend of horror, action, romance, and humor into a full-fledge cinematic experience. The novel also highlights the themes of trauma, perseverance and human ingenuity in the face of overwhelming danger.
Also packed with vivid action sequences, Dunkle’s Bones delivers a roller-coaster ride that fans of sea monster lore and suspenseful thrillers won't want to miss.
