Turbochargers are installed in every diesel-powered car now on the market. Due to increasingly strict pollution standards, many contemporary petrol vehicles have begun to have turbochargers. Lugging the engine

Driving at a higher gear while moving slowly is known as lugging the engine. In diesel vehicles, the fuel delivery is depending on the amount of accelerator input, so to maintain the engine running when in higher gear and at a slower speed, the driver must apply more pressure to the accelerator. As a consequence, the engine runs rich with fuel, and because there isn't enough air in the combustor, the fuel doesn't burn. This increases fuel consumption in the engine and over time may harm the exhaust system as well as turbocharger. Carrying heavy loads can harm smaller engines as well.
