Weight-loss resolutions are easy to make but hard to keep," said Jessica Rich, FTC's Consumer Protection Bureau director. "So even sprinkling it on your skin, putting something on your legs, or having a substitute, the odds of being good are slim to zero. The science is just not there. 

In fact, advertisers with a weight-loss would spend about $34 million for customer redress. In comparison to Sensa's $26.5 million to compensate, L'Occitane, Inc. must reimburse $450,000 and the LeanSpa settled claimant must forfeit properties of an additional $7.3 million in all. The verdict against the applicant HCG Diet Direct is postponed because of his failure to compensate.
