In the past 40 years, China's communications industry has experienced 1G blanks, 2G following, 3G breakthroughs and 4G simultaneous exploration. Now entering the 5G era, China has become one of the world's earliest countries to commercialize 5G.
What is 5G?
The 5G letter "G" comes from the first letter of the English generation. In 5G, literal translation is the fifth generation and refers to the fifth generation communication technology.
5G network has the characteristics of high speed, ubiquitous network, low power consumption and low latency, and will establish an information society interconnected by everything.
How fast is 5G?
Wang Jianzhou, former chairman of China Mobile and senior consultant of the Global Mobile Communications Association, said that 5G can be seen in two indicators:
The first is the peak rate. Peak rate is the number of vehicles that can pass per second when comparing data to super highway vehicles. When the road is large, more vehicles will pass by every second and reach the peak speed. At present, the data volume of the test network has exceeded 10 G, which is 10 Gbit per second. The downlink rate should reach 20 G;
The second indicator is called delay, which is the speed of the highway, but there are toll stations when entering, and checkpoints in the middle. Processing takes time. 5G latency has reached 3-4 milliseconds, and its goal is to reach 1 millisecond. Whether it is 1 millisecond or 3-4 milliseconds, users will not feel it, because 1 millisecond is 1/1000 second.
