Dandiya is one of the most cheerful socio-religious folk dances of Gujarat, mainly performed on the festival of Navratri as an aesthetic expression of people’s happy and joyful emotions and feelings, with the people all dressed-up in shiny and multicolored attires, called chaniya choli (a three-piece lehenga set containing blouse, skirt and dupatta).
