You should use this do - it-yourself checklist before you call a costly waterproofing contractor to check whether there is any other problem with your water leak than bad waterproofing.

Fill the gutter and blowouts and inspect and fill. In the longer term the best of the drainage roof systems can be blocked, or the seams can be covered by waterproofing troughs. Remove any leaves or dust from all ribs and downstreams to check the system.

Then use a pants for at least 5-10 minutes to spray along the troughs and drains to make sure the water is carried away properly.

Foundation

Check the foundation's surface slope and grounds. Make sure all water flows away at least between 48 "and 60" down from the building. If the water doesn't dry out, it can be taken to the house and rushed back into it.

Leaks

Search for leaky pipes or ropes under your sinks, toilets etc. Use a flashlight to map all the rivers into the basement or the crawl area throughout the building. Make sure to check the pipes as they enter the house. Clear some soil or stone in order to look for the falls. If required, have any structures for waterproofing repaired.

Supply lines

Search for leaks or falls along the joints on the water supply lines. With the passage of time, water pipes can rot or deteriorate and freezing cold may impact waterproofing around the fittings and the elbows. Switch all water in your room, including your icemaker, to check for leaks. Write the meter of your heat. Wait now for 30-60 minutes and read again the meter. You have an undetected leak if the meter has adjusted. You don't need a waterproofing specialist if you have a leak.

Floor Test for wetness and waterproofing in your basement walls. The easy way to do this is to take a 12 "piece of aluminum foil and rub it over the surface of the suspect wall. Seal the edges shut. Now just wait one or two days to test the foil. If the foil is damp, the effect is a condensation, when it is warm indoors and it comes from filtering.
