The company, which had a GMV of Rs 135 crore in FY20, is on track to conclude the current fiscal year with a GMV of Rs 150 crore, according to Gaurav.

A top corporate executive claimed that Housejoy, a tech-driven provider of home construction, maintenance, and beauty services, has experienced tremendous development in its business, driven by industries like construction and beauty, and is on course to end the financial year with Rs 150 crore in GMV.

Sanchit Gaurav, the founder and CEO of Housejoy, claimed that the company had significantly surpassed pre-COVID records in several categories, such as home cleaning and viral fumigation, while the holiday season boosted demand in other areas, such as beauty services.

"We have been financially expanding at a rate of 20% month over month, and overall, following the lockdown, we have returned to pre-COVID numbers. Our on-demand and construction businesses have grown to ten new cities, "added he.

According to Gaurav, the company is on course to end the current financial year with a GMV of Rs 150 crore, up from Rs 135 crore in FY20.

GMV is the total dollar worth of all projects that the company has done. On these projects, Housejoy charges a commission fee.

In addition to offering on-demand services in 14 significant Indian cities, Housejoy also carries out home construction work in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

According to Gaurav, the business currently has over 9,000 service providers all throughout India and receives over 25,000 monthly reservations for on-demand services on average.

"The numbers were virtually half right after lockdown, but many people have since returned. For instance, before COVID and after the lockdown, we used to employ more than 700 construction workers across all of our sites. This was reduced to 100 as many people moved back to their hometowns, "He clarified.

He continued, "The number is growing and will soon reach pre-Covid numbers with the appropriate backing from Housejoy."

According to Gaurav, the construction industry is expanding 20% month over month since the lockout, while on-demand maintenance services are expanding gradually but steadily.

The fastest post-lockdown rise was seen in the home cleaning and viral fumigation sectors, while the Christmas demand helped the beauty sector reach 80% of pre-COVID statistics.

While the lockdown's restrictions on movement had a negative impact on business, Housejoy has seen a steady rebound as customers have chosen to use its services in response to assurances that proper cleanliness measures are being taken.

"Our service providers are required to wear masks, gloves, and sanitizers when providing services. We make sure that all of our service providers receive routine health checks and daily temperature checks. Our service providers are instructed on the cleanliness standards specified by the WHO, and they are urged to adhere to them when providing services "added Gaurav.

He continued by saying that single-use items are utilised to maintain hygiene and are carefully disposed of after use.

"Our service providers follow social distancing principles and provide zero contact services for everything from appliance maintenance to viral fumigation and home cleaning. Before each service, our service providers sterilise all equipment in use, and they disinfect it thereafter "He said.
