Principles of Operation of Control valve


In control valve the opening or closing of control valves is usually done automatically either by electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic actuators. To control the opening or closing of the actuator positioners are used based on electric, or pneumatic signals.
These actuators are connected to the valve through the stem of the valve that provides the force required to move the valve.
Controller such as PLC or DCS transfer the signal to control valve in order to operate. These controller which compares the actual flow rate to the desired flow value called setpoint. To bring the flow rate to the setpoint value the controller will produce an output to move the valve.
