Medical entrance test may be one-or two-stage entry test. If the examination is of one stage then the selection process is performed by a mains examination, whereas if it is a two-stage entrance examination, the selection process is performed first by a preliminary examination and next to a mains examination. Any medical entrance examination question paper is usually divided into four parts, namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. The NEET-UG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate Courses) will be conducted at all levels in India with the aim of relieving the need for students to participate in multiple tests and to promote merit in the admission process. NEET UG will allow Class 12 students to sit in a single entrance exam to be admitted to nearly all Indian medical colleges including private medical colleges.
One has to secure excellent scores in Biology / Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics and English to become a doctor. Students with a science background who have completed their Class 12 are eligible to apply for medical entrance examinations. However, some exams will require that the students have a pass in the background of B.S or Pre Medical.
