VANCOUVER — Singer, lyricist and actor David Raynolds has followed up his second EP “So Alive” with a new single that encourages listeners to unite to address major problems facing humanity.

The song blurs the lines between the melodies of pop and the classic punch of electronic dance music. If you are a fan of artists such as The Chainsmokers, Avicii and Steve Aoki, you might certainly enjoy this one! David Raynolds has a powerful and richly dynamic production aesthetic, which really lifts the song to the next level. The melodies are deeply nuanced, and the layering of different tones add a lot of extra depth to the music as well. There is a very anthemic quality to the song, making it an absolute banger, which also creates an emotional connection with the audience. The song is particularly distinctive for its retro vibe. “We Are The Voice” stands out for its pristine sound, but although the production is quite polished, it is never overproduced, allowing a lot of wonderfully organic  and “human” elements to really add liveliness to the mix.

Fans of early electronic music will recognize influences as diverse as Kraftwerk or Depeche Mode, but there is also a very modern feel, making this release unique. The mix is balanced and very detail-oriented, making for a lively, edgy and stark sonic approach. In other words, there are many subtle nuances in this release, which really add to the richness of the track when summed up together. The frequency spectrum of the mix is also very balanced, with a tight, yet deep low end working wonders along with a smooth top end, which adds a sense of clarity to the music. This is the kind of track that will surprise listeners because of its sonic variety, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat due to its catchy, yet unpredictable arrangement.

“We Are the Voice” is Raynolds’ call to action, with its lyrics “We are the voice / Of the Earth / We are the screams / Of the ocean / ….It’s getting hard to breathe / Don’t let it slip away.” He will use the proceeds from the sale of the single to organize events encouraging food recycling (food nearing expiration dates will be distributed for free to people who can’t afford groceries), community clothing recycling, cleaning up the rivers or ocean shores, or planting a tree or a flower.

David Raynolds has always wanted to help people around him. By buying “We Are the Voice,” he says, you will help him reach that goal. Buying this song is for a great cause.

For “We Are the Voice,” Raynolds continues his partnership with Vancouver songwriter and producer Murray Yates of Echoman Records. Yates also produced Raynolds’ first EP “I Believe in Me,” recorded when Raynolds was 11 years old, and his second EP “So Alive”, release in September 2019.  Between the two recordings, Raynolds took some time off from singing to let his voice mature. “So Alive” is the first example of his mature vocal range.
