Remove the water separators

Diesel gets easily contaminated with water, thus trucks have a water separator located near the fuel filter. The separator cleans out the water, but you still have to drain the fuel frequently to keep the diesel fuel clean. All you need to do is open the valve and remove the water. Task accomplished!

Check on your coolant

The coolant inside the engine is expected to become more acidic and can rot out the parts of the cooling system, resulting in costly repairs. Keep an eye on your coolant and change it at the desired interval, as described in your manual. You can also check the acidity levels such that you know when your engine needs a change.

Bleeding the fuel system

The presence of air inside your fuel system is dangerous. One of the major issues is the lack of fuel flowing into the combustion chamber. While replacing your filter, bleeding the fuel system is an essential step to avoid the presence of bubbles in the fuel.

Simply, open the fuel supply valve and use the manual fuel pump, until there are no bubbles left.
