During the session, we had the opportunity to interact with Tim Entwisle, owner and director of Madrigal Communications.
Entwisle has worked on a wide range of technical writing and business communications projects for over three decade. Moreover, Entwisle has offered his expertise to several large corporations, small businesses, and government organisations. Currently, he is the director of a specialist technical copywriting agency in NSW.
We were looking forward to learning more about the ins and outs of writing a tender response and how technical writing may assist businesses. Entwisle was kind enough to share his expertise.
“Tenders are a reliable way to grow your business. So, it is no wonder that most suppliers out there are competing to win tenders. It is crucial to put your best foot forward when it comes to tender responses and technical writing as there is such fierce competition.”
Entwisle continues, “I urge first-time writers to dedicate time to understand their buyers’ requirements and how to explain what they mean in simple-to-understand-terms. This will help you plan the tendering process.
Moreover, you should draft your response according to the specified format or template. Also, remember to follow the word limit.”
Entwisle further highlights, “The focus of the document should be the client’s requirement. Use the document to showcase how your product and services can benefit the buyer or solve their problems.”
“Lastly, you should always proofread before submitting the document. Grammatical errors may seem trivial, but they can make you seem careless.”, concludes the expert.
