Several industry specialists were in attendance. We interacted with the panellists and gained some valuable insights. We conversed particularly with Tim Entwisle from Madrigal Communications an expert in tendering.
Entwisle is a business communications powerhouse with decades of experience. He has worked on projects of all sizes and backgrounds. His impressive portfolio includes collaborations with small businesses, government organisations and corporate clients. He is now a Director for a specialist copywriting agency.
We picked his brain about creating a streamlined tendering process, and he was kind enough to share his knowledge.
“Devising a tendering process is crucial to ensure you’re on the top of tendering requirements. Without an organised plan, your efforts will dissipated. You will end up with a mediocre tender proposal and miss important deadlines”
He continues, “An essential part of the plan is assembling a skilled and dependable team. A lot of time and resources go into writing tenders that impress buyers. You need people on your team that are capable of quickly understanding tendering requirements and drafting persuasive proposals.
Managing bids is another task that needs attention. A compelling bid is worthless if you fail to submit it on time. Apart from prioritising high-value bids, I suggest setting aside time for making last-minute changes.”
“Lastly, I would urge you to stick to competing for bids that are relevant to your capabilities. There’s no point in wasting time and resources on contracts that you have no chance of winning. Also, always aim to submit proposals and bids at least a few hours before the deadline. You never know when something goes wrong.” concludes the expert.
