What is IATA?
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the trade association for the airlines
around the world, representing some 290 airlines or 82% of total air traffic. They support
many areas of aviation activity and help formulate industry policy and standards. The IATA
accreditation is a global travel industry recognition awarded to airlines, travel agents, and
freight forwarders. It allows companies to gain recognition in the industry for their financial
and professional expertise while regulating the relationships between the member airlines
and the assigned sales agent.
