Shahkaar is one of the leading handloom pure pashmina shawl brands. In 2018, Manan and Salman brothers started Shahkaar to pay homage to their great-grandfather, Wali Mohammad Baba, who had started the journey of the finest wool from Changra goats in the challenging terrains of Changthang.

Legacy of Hard Work

Indeed, Wali Mohammad Baba's journey in the 1920s was nothing less than a thrilling adventure. He travelled and crossed some of the most treacherous mountains to find the best wool. He searched relentlessly till the quality paid him back. Such a legacy has been honoured and carried forward by generations.

After years of commitment, it was finally his grandson's turn, who had been in medical college but had to abandon it when his father suddenly passed away and made him take over the family business. Such dedication provides an entry point for brothers Manan and Salman into family business.
