INDIA – Germany’s deep tech platform Vara, formerly known as Merantix Healthcare, has entered the Indian market with the launch of its AI-powered tool for breast cancer screening.

Vara has partnered with Suburban Diagnostics and NM Medical to increase access to affordable, quality, and timely treatment options for women and their families across India.

The deep tech firm will work closely with Indian-based diagnostic centers to boost access to early and accurate diagnosis, timely treatment, and long-term supportive care.

In the first phase, the Berlin-based MedTech company plans to roll out its data-driven breast cancer screening solution with the opening of its first screening centers in Mumbai.

Vara will offer screenings at affordable prices and raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection,” the company said in a statement.

Through its CE-certified machine learning software platform, Vara aims to empower women with access to early breast cancer detection technologies.

Vara’s technology incorporates Artificial Intelligence into digital mammography to detect breast cancer at its earliest stages. Early detection is key to improving survival rates for breast cancer.

The company will deploy its AI-driven breast cancer screening tool in real-world clinical settings across India to promote accurate breast cancer detection and risk assessment.

By using machine learning algorithms to analyze images and identify the earliest signs of potential abnormalities, Vara’s technology can improve the accuracy of breast cancer screening while reducing the number of unnecessary biopsies,” stated the German firm.

In addition, Vara will support and complement the work of radiologists on the ground at its screening centres across India to improve efficiency and increase screening rates.

The company will also offer webinars and educational resources to healthcare providers and patients to increase access to breast screening for women across the country

Vara-assisted radiologists significantly outperform average radiologists in detecting the earliest signs of breast cancer,” claimed the Berlin-based firm.

The MedTech firm will also conduct nationwide awareness campaigns to educate women about breast cancer and the benefits of early detection.

On his part, Jonas Muff, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vara, said: “We are thrilled to bring Vara to India and help more women get access to life-saving breast cancer screenings.”

He underscored that Vara is bringing AI-driven breast screening solutions to India to reduce breast cancer morbidity and mortality in the country.

Our goal is to make screening accessible for all women in India regardless of their location or economic status through a nationwide network of Vara-enabled radiology centers,” added Muff." rewrite the article for press release
