Walt Bansley 44 is a native of San Diego who opened Snow Republic Brewing Co. in West Dover on Oct. 4. The brewery is about three miles from Mount Snow in a log building along Vermont 100.

Snow Republic has four beers on tap, and its repertoire includes two staples — an IPA and a porter — as well as a Belgian wit, a lager and a pale ale. Bansley and Snow Republic’s brewer, Justin Maturo, have plans to add sour and stout brews as well.

“I’m a weekend-warrior bartender,” Bansley said, adding that he loves being in the service industry. “I don’t feel like this is work.”

“It’s been jamming,” Bansley said of business at Snow Republic since the brewery opened. “Every weekend has been better than the last.”
