Specialityvalve is the top Steam Valve Manufacturer in India. Steam valves are used to regulate steam and hot water vapor flow and pressure. Steam is employed in a variety of industrial processes. It is used to power turbines that generate energy, as well as to process food, chemicals, and other products. Cleaning, heating, and humidification are all done using steam. Most applications need some kind of control, and steam control valves play a crucial role in this. The most common use of valves with steam is to lower the incoming steam pressure for process purposes. Though most types of valves can control steam flow, special service conditions exist with steam regarding temperature and pressure.
Applications Steam Valve is used in:
• Refinery Industry
• Chemical Industry
• Oil & Gas Industry
• Nuclear Plant
• Petrochemical Industry
Types of Steam Valve:
Ball valves give a reliable shut-off and control. They have a wide range of applications because to the regulating element's design, which eliminates the problems of side loads that plague butterfly and globe valves. The ease of operation, as well as the high flow, high pressure, and high temperature capabilities, are all advantages. Low cleanliness and inability to manage slurries are two disadvantages.
Butterfly Valve: Control steam flow using a disc rotating on a diametrical axis within a pipe, or two semicircular plates hinged on a same spindle, allowing just one direction of flow. They are used to regulate flow as throttling valves. Butterfly valves have a small design with a rotational stem movement of 90 degrees or less. Butterfly valves, unlike ball valves, do not have pockets where fluids and gas might be trapped when the valve is closed.
Globe Valve: are rounded-body linear motion valves that get their name from their shape. They're commonly utilized in industry to control fluid flow in on/off and throttling applications. Precision throttling and control, as well as high-pressure restrictions, are all advantages. Poor sanitation is one of the disadvantages.
Gate Valve / Knife gate valve: are linear motion valves that produce shut-off by sliding a flat closure element into the flow stream. Parallel and wedge-shaped gate valves are the two most common varieties. A flat disc gate is used between two parallel seats in parallel gate valves (upstream and downstream). Knife valves are similar to this, except the bottom of the gate has a sharp edge. The availability of large sizes is usual. Pressure limits, a lack of cleanliness, and a low shut-off are all disadvantages.
Diaphragm Valve: Using a flexible diaphragm, utilize a 'pinching' approach to halt the valve flow. One of the biggest benefits of diaphragm valves is that they may be separated from the process fluid, making them excellent for hygienic applications. The maximum temperature for diaphragm valves is 450° F.
