About:
MA in Statistics is a two year full-time Post graduation level course. It offers the students an advanced study, in theory, research methods and application of statistics and various fields.
Whereas , M.Sc. Statistics is a 3-year postgraduate course, which is an offshoot of Mathematics and has its complete focus on the concepts and processes involved in collecting and interpreting statistical data.

Eligibility
For an MA Statistic degree, the minimum requirement is a basic graduation degree from a recognised institution, with a minimum of 50 Percent aggregate score. The most common subjects in this course included Demography, Probability Theory, Stochastic Process, Biostatics, and much more.
The course syllabus includes practical learning and assignments which help students to understand the uses of these subjects for different purposes in various areas.
But for an M.Sc Statistics Degree, the minimum eligibility for admission is the completion of B.A. (Honors)/ B.Sc.(Honors) in Statistics or Mathematics, or graduation in a related course from a recognised university.

Admission Process:
The admission process is not very complicated. It is usually based on the performance of the student at his/her graduation level. But few of the top colleges conduct an entrance exam. And the admission is made based on how good the student has scored in the particular test.
Statistic Entrance Exam:
There are many in-house and state level entrance exams conducted for different statistics programs across India. Few of the most noticeable ones are listed below;
ISI Admission Test: This exam is conducted by ISI Kolkata for admission in Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.
DUET: DU Entrance Test is conducted by NTA every year for admission in UG, PG and PhD level courses in all the colleges that are affiliated to Delhi University.
BHU PET: This entrance exam is conducted by Banaras Hindu University for admission in various PG programs.
AMU Entrance Exam 2020: Aligarh Muslim University conducts this exam for admission into various programs, including masters in statistics.
