Needle valves are also called as “plunger valves”. These are controlling or regulating valves and it enables us to control and regulate pressure as well as water flow. It uses a tapered pin to sequentially open a space for fine control of flow. The motion can be regulated and controlled with the use of a spindle. A needle valve has very small orifice with a long, tapered seat, a needle shaped plunger on the end of a screw which totally fits the seat.

How it works?
As the screw is pivoted and the plunger revoked, the flow between seat and plunger is possible; however, until the plunger is completely revoked, the liquid motion is significantly impeded. Since it takes many rotates of the fine threaded screw to retract the plunger, precise regulation of the motion rate is easily possible.
