Westervelt Lodge is a wingshooting lodge in Alabama where guests have the opportunity of pheasant shooting on 12000 acres of land.
 
The property has been maintained and preserved in its natural habitat along the Tombigbee River bordered by forests of tall Southern Pine Trees. The Ring-neck pheasant is one of 50 species that are known, and this is the only species in North America that has been given the go ahead to hunt.

Wingshooting is a very popular sport and Pheasant shooting is one of the favourite birds to hunt and shoot. When staying at the Westervelt Lodge the guides are proficient in finding these birds in weed patches, the edge of woods, grain fields and in amongst the grass in meadows. Westervelt has optimized their property for hunting which has resulted in excellent habitat for the wildlife on the property.

At Westervelt Lodge the guests are treated to several different activities one is a European style driven pheasant shooting. These are set up with 300 flighted birds and 20 guns shooting. The well-trained Labrador Retrievers fetch the shot birds, and this event is broken into two periods one morning and one afternoon.
