4. Drilling Method
From the working principle of the drilling machine point of view, there are mainly 3 drilling methods:

Down The Hole drilling method needs to work with an air compressor. It is a great method for rock conditions.

Rotary drilling with a mud pump is a more economical drilling way and fits very well for soil, sand, and clay stratum, for rock its drilling speed will be lower compared to DTH drilling.

Auger drilling, does not need an air compressor and mud pump during drilling. But it only can drill the soil, clay, and sand.

From the drilling process point of view, we have 2 drilling methods:

Direct circulation drilling in which the drilling fluid(air or mud) goes through the drill rod and takes the cuttings via the space between the outside of the drill rod and the wall of the hole.

Reverse circulation drilling needs a dual-wall drilling pipe. The drilling fluid goes through the space between the inner wall of the outer tube and the outer wall of the inner tube. For cobblestone and sand, soil geological structure is the most efficient drilling method.
