CDT focus

In the new courses, more components of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) will be introduced. The in-depth course will empower the potential therapist to differentiate between a variety of peripheral edemas and the applications, medical indications, and contraindications of MLD and CDT.

Explaining the importance of the upcoming courses, the CEO said the training is unique with a combination of lymphedema treatments and wound care with high clinical relevance.

The course in its hybrid format has extensive practical, hands-on, and imparts positive reinforcement for the learners about the care practices.

The CEO noted that the best part of the lymphedema therapist training courses will be the autonomy it invests in the practitioner with the required domain knowledge to establish a CDT treatment pathway for any type of lymphedema.

The whole gamut of lymphatic therapy courses explicates Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) as a calm, non-invasive, and highly effective therapy. It is also explained as how it can be viewed as a variant of physiotherapy with overlap in Complex Decongestive Physiotherapy (CDP), covering the following steps.
• Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)
• Compression Therapy
• Exercises

Care components

In the practical classes, the latest lymphedema bandaging techniques for upper and lower extremities along with remedial lymphedema exercises will be demonstrated.

There will be emphasis on hygienic skin and nail care, plus measuring and fitting of lymphedema support garments. In assessment skills, patient evaluation and measurement of patents circumference and volume will be covered.

In the course instruction for lymphatic therapy courses, extensive sessions with access to online educational videos and an informational portfolio of current treatment products will be of great help to emerging therapists.

Hybrid learning and online learning

According to the CEO, there will be a unique educational climate that is uplifting and engaging. The blend of didactic and practical work makes daily lessons in the lymphatic therapy courses captivating as care methods are disseminated both conceptually and physically.

During the lymphedema therapist training, the combination of patient visitation, evaluation, inspection, observation, and precise delivery of patient care will make the course enriching.

According to the CEO, the seamless integration of theoretical and practical components will be the attraction of the newly planned lymphedema care training courses.
