At BrilliantRead Media, our aim is to bring to our community some of the finest stories from the leadership world. As part of this endeavour, we invited a passionate business leader – Arya R Prasad for an exclusive interview with us. She is a mother and COO of Codelattice, a rapidly growing technology company. Let’s learn more about her exciting journey, her background, and her advice for our growing community.
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Arya:
We are aware of your contribution to the startup ecosystem; talk us through your background and your journey as a leader, please;
In 2009 I started my career as a Software Engineer at Infosys. I soon climbed up the corporate ladder to lead teams in multiple geographies. I worked in various capacities in India as well as in the United States. Although I love being a technocrat, I found my calling in leading and mentoring people to tap into their full potential. Being a Certified Scrum Master, I am able to lead technical teams in a systematic approach.
Since the inception of Codelattice in 2009, I have been helping the company in my spare time. I always believed in the potential of the Codelattice team. I knew it was the perfect place for me to grow and excel. In 2018, I joined full time to take charge as Program lead spearheading the Products and Innovations in the company. Now I am in Germany taking care of Codelattice Global Operations as the COO.
How did you discover your passion?
I find joy in imparting knowledge and mentoring others. I had realized this in my early college days when I enjoyed tutoring my classmates in their academics.
I like to solve complex technical problems. Codelattice being on the innovative edge is satisfying my cravings for technical challenges.
I am curious and a relentless learner. At Codelattice there is no concept of settling down. I am concurrently both a teacher and a student, as well as a mentor and a protege.
With so much going on, how do you start the day to keep your passion alive?
Being a mother of a toddler is a challenge enough and I need to be disciplined with my routine. Every day at Codelattice is different and throws new challenges. The company is growing rapidly and I am pushed beyond my comfort zone. It takes consistent hard work to be the Operations Chief. However, I must say that it is immensely satisfying.
We have a great team here. It is fun to work with people who try to outdo themselves. It is delightful to make an impact. When someone appreciates our Product I feel that our hard work is paid off.
How leadership qualities can help with your career or business growth?
Leadership is all about empowering others and contributing to the greater good.
It is a consistent effort and self-belief that paves the path. Inquisitiveness and hands-on problem-solving skills have helped me to stand in the team as one among them. One should know when and how to delegate a task.
Honesty and Transparency should be reflected in our communications. This helps in building a community that sticks together. The bonding in the team won’t sustain unless we trust and inspire each other. My primary job as a leader is to build such an environment.
The Codelattice team is excited to work as they feel respected and heard. I consider it my responsibility to keep up the spirit.
