SAN FRANCISCO, California– Coffee Meets Bagel, the dating app made for serious relationship seekers, has launched Causes: a list of social issues, including reproductive rights, that daters can add right to their profile. CMB believes serious relationships are built on a shared set of values, so it’s important that daters can share them on their profile to meet like-minded matches. Research* from Zinck et al shows that sharing a common passionate cause and giving back together may be one of the most beneficial activities to create a strong foundation and meaningful relationship with one’s partner.
“Coffee Meets Bagel wants to help people get to know you as soon as they see your profile. What you stand for speaks volumes of the kind of person you are – much more significantly than hobbies, musical taste or even job titles,” said Dawoon Kang, co-founder of the dating app. “With the introduction of Causes in the Values section of each dater’s profile, authenticity is enhanced, allowing daters to proudly express their core values to the fullest. We plan to continue regular product upgrades and features that support our daters in finding serious relationships”.
In a recent CMB survey, 66% of users claim that knowing their potential match’s values is essential to determining chemistry and compatibility. Additionally, 73% of users agree that sharing the same values with a potential match is 100% more likely to lead to a long-term partnership.
With recent events, CMB proudly supports reproductive rights and is firmly against the overturning of Roe v. Wade. “At CMB, we believe that every person should be in control of life-changing decisions. All daters looking for love should be able to do so and we believe daters should also be able to align themselves with potential matches who share their support for the cause,” said Dawoon. CMB will continue to listen to its users to create more features that help serious daters find a long-term, serious relationship.
