Killeen, TX/2021: Killeen ISD Superintendent Dr. John Craft announces new leadership appointments, Dr. Nicole Koch was named Executive Director for Strategic Initiatives and Accountability, and Mr. John Hocking as the Executive Director of Technology Services. Combined, they will oversee the Technology Services department for the district.

Dr. Koch began her tenure at Killeen ISD as a teacher at Sugar Loaf Elementary and later Saegert Elementary school. In 2017, Koch left the classroom to support the Office of Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction as the Special Projects Assistant to the Assistant Superintendents.

More recently, she developed the Teacher Incentive Allotment Program for Killeen ISD, oversees the Board Goals, ensures compliance to new legislation and policy changes, and serves as the liaison between district-level departments and campuses.

Dr. Koch received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, and a Master of Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

In 2010, Mr. John Hocking joined the district after working as the Senior Network Support Analyst during his 10-year military career. As a civilian, he served the Department of Defense and worked with McLane Advanced Technologies.

As Killeen ISD’s Director of Network and Security Operations, Hocking’s responsibilities included oversight of KISD’s IT infrastructure and customer support departments, eRate program and several district-wide initiatives involving Cybersecurity. Mr. Hocking serves on the Forbes Technology Advisory Council, the Central Texas College Advisory Board and is a member of the FBI Infragard and the Central Texas Broadband Task Force.

Mr. Hocking has a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management and a Master of Business Administration from Trident University International in Cypress, California.
