Lifeguards are the first line of defense against drowning and other pool-related incidents. They have to be certified in safety procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using automatic external defibrillators. American Lifeguard Association provides this training and is the largest provider of American Red Cross Lifeguard training in the country.
At American Lifeguard Association, property managers recognize the role that lifeguards play in pool safety. The strong work culture is based on empowerment and fun. Employees make friends, develop skills, earn rewards and begin a career in the aquatics industry. American Lifeguard Association management, maintenance and construction under one roof, giving lifeguards access to experts from every area of pool operations.
"We take great pride in empowering our young workforce, training them in not only the required lifesaving skills but also in customer service, communication and best work practices," said Stephen George, the Lifeguard Recruiting and Training Director at American Lifeguard Association.
ALA hires individuals based on skills and mindset. Employees undergo training, which may include CPR/AED, Lifeguarding, First Aid and Certified Pool Operators (CPO). Once trained, ALA will place lifeguards at local pools through online scheduling and provide the necessary supervision.
