The two characters of the film Mansi and Veer are running away to be precise the boy is running to not get settled in an arranged marriage, and the girl is running away from her fiancé. Mansi, the character played by Zareen Khan, and Veer, played by Anshuman Jha refusing traditional, inflexible parents and typecast expectations to run towards their true love in the movie Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele. But ‘complex’ is an understatement when we talk about their love life.
Plagued by his father Randhawa who was a Colonel by profession nervous Veer leaves his city Chandigarh and heads to his friend Akshay’s and his wife Mitali’s house. Mansi, on the other hand, goes to Delhi to meet with her long-term girlfriend Nikki only to discover that Nikki is not in Mcleod Ganj which is her hometown.
As luck would have it, that very night Veer and Mansi has a meet-cute at an LGBTQ party. Mansi observes that things are not hunky-dory in Veer’s paradise and many glasses of wine later she’s taking shelter in Veer’s apartment.
Mansi and Veer are two totally opposite people. While she’s rumpled and impulsive; he has OCD about neatness and, as he was brought up in a strict environment by his army father, he’s also chivalrous and obeys the regulations. She somehow influenced him to get on a road trip to Mcleodganj as he will also feel good on a trip. However, the road trip is like the same old Bollywood drama of song, and play.
Nevertheless slow-paced the story and still coquetting some of the views are, as long as writer-director Harish Vyas’s show examined thoughts of self-assertion, love, destiny made his movie look fresh But the tasteless climax tears apart the created beauty by the director.
As an unmatched couple, Zareen and Jha share an effortless onscreen intimacy. However, not doing so well for the slow too complicated, stereotypical plot. You can watch this movie on Disney+Hotstar and VIP variant as well.
