1. Knowledge of parameters
Reduction ratio: the ratio of output speed to input speed.
Number of series: The sun gear and its surrounding planetary gears form an independent reduction gear train. For example, there is only one gear train in the reducer, which is called "first stage".
Average life: refers to the continuous working time of the reducer under the rated load and the highest input speed.
Rated output torque: refers to the allowable output torque when working under rated load for a long time. The maximum output torque is twice this value.
Return clearance: When the output end is fixed, the input end rotates clockwise and counterclockwise, so that when the output end generates a torque of ±2% of the rated torque, the input end of the reducer has a slight angular displacement, and this angular displacement is the return clearance. The unit is "arc minutes".
Lubrication method: The planetary reducer does not need lubrication during the entire use period.
Full load efficiency: refers to the transmission efficiency of the reducer under the maximum load condition. It is a key indicator to measure the reducer. The reducer with high full load efficiency has less heat and good overall performance.
Noise: The unit is decibel (dB) A. This value is measured when the input speed is 3000 rpm, no load, and a distance of one meter from the reducer.
2. Four points for choosing planetary gearbox
(1)The choice of the speed ratio of the planetary reducer
When selecting a planetary reducer, first of all, the reduction ratio must be specified. After determining the reduction ratio, multiply the rated torque of the selected servo motor by the reduction ratio. In principle, the value obtained is smaller than the rated output torque of the similar reducer provided by the product sample. At the same time, the overload capacity of the drive motor and the maximum working torque required in practice should also be considered. The required maximum working torque should be less than twice the rated output torque.
(2)The choice of the size and specification of the planetary reducer
After meeting the above conditions, please choose the reducer with the smallest volume. The cost of the reducer with small volume is relatively low. If you don't have enough space for the motor reducer to be connected in a straight line, you can also choose a corner type reducer, which can turn the torque 90 degrees.
(3)Selection of the accuracy (return clearance) of the planetary reducer
The next thing to consider is the return clearance of the planetary reducer. The smaller the return clearance, the higher the accuracy and the higher the cost. Users can choose a series of reducers that meet their precision requirements.
(4)Consider the service life of the planetary reducer
Also consider lateral/radial forces and average life. The reducer with large lateral/radial force has high reliability in installation and use, and is not prone to problems. The actual life can be calculated according to the software provided by the manufacturer. Usually its average lifespan far exceeds the lifespan of the equipped servo motor
