Biology is life studies. We have a natural sense of curiosity and affection for life as human beings are living things, and how it has come to be. Biology study incorporates everything related to life on Earth that can be imagined. It can be very wide and focus on details about the whole planet, or it can be very specific and study microscopic structures like bacteria or DNA. Studying living things, called organisms, takes us all over the world, from the most productive tropical rainforests to Antarctica's hostile lands or the deepest oceanic basins.

These are:
• Cells are life's basic unit.
• Genes are the basic units from parent to offspring for passing traits.
• The process of evolution through natural selection has led to the great diversity of species on Earth.
• Living things in their cells and bodies keep the environment.
• There is the ability to acquire and transform energy in living things.

Biology is a massive field of study, as students can imagine and may well know. It is constantly developing as biologists are completing research around the world and bringing our understanding of life to new levels.
Every day new information is published in various biological fields and it is almost impossible for one person to keep up-to-date with any biological topic. All have to start somewhere, however, and studying biology can illuminate your understanding of the world around you.
All living things are constructed from cells called microscopic structures. One cell has the potential and the simplest structure capable of sustaining life. Although life has long evolved into multi-cellular organisms, most of Earth's life remains as single-cell organisms. Bacteria, archaea, protists, and many fungi only have one cell and can survive and reproduce in a vast array of ways that shame plants and animals.
Typically, cells are divided into two main categories: prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Only microscopic organisms such as bacteria and archaea find prokaryotic cells. In more advanced organisms, such as animals, plants and fungi, eukaryotic cells are found.
The main difference between the two cell types is that eukaryotic cells have a nucleus containing the DNA of the cell and specialized structures called organelles. Organelles perform specific functions such as the production of photosynthesis and protein. The DNA is not encapsulated within a nucleus in prokaryotic cells and there is a lack of organelles.
