According to Reuters, Winson Oil continues to assert the validity of the report provided by the UN Security Council which states that the Singapore-based oil trader illegally supplied fuel despite international sanctions.

The company in question said in a statement that "Winson denies, in the strongest possible terms, any and all allegations and/or insinuations that it knowingly facilitated the illicit supply of oil in breach of any United Nations Security Council resolutions, and/or that it is a 'key node' in illegal procurements of oil or refined petroleum products".

The accused company alleges that the publication of such a report is unfair as they have remained fully cooperative with the investigation called out by the UN's panel of experts.

It is further claimed by Winson Oil that allegations and insinuations that were made were not part of the Panel's series of questions put to Winson. As such, Winson was not able to voice out their defense in relation to such allegations, leading to a substantial breach of natural justice.

Winson Oil had also ceased ship-to-ship operations to tankers that were not owned or operated by Winson Oil in the area spanning the outside Taiwanese port limits through the East China Sea to the Yellow Sea.

The company plans to release a more detailed statement once they are able to analyze the report in full detail. In the meanwhile, Winson Oil pledges to continue cooperating with the UN panel to demonstrate its innocence in the matter.
