[KEP – 03/02/2020] – People from all over the world are discovering the benefits of the Japanese healing art known as Reiki (pronounced ray-kee). There is one healing retreat that offers Reiki, and that is the Vagabond Temple in Cambodia.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a stress-relieving relaxation technique from Japan. The term is a combination of the words rei, which means “God's wisdom” or “the higher power”, and ki, which means “life force”. Reiki means a “spiritually-guided life-force”.

Reiki healers administer the treatment by laying hands since the treatment is anchored on the belief that an unseen life force is present in all people. When this life force increases, people become more receptive to health and happiness. It is a simple, safe, and natural method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that anyone can learn at Vagabond Temple, a yoga and meditation retreat centre. Reiki works in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques and promotes recovery from illnesses.

Reiki Courses
Apart from seeking treatment via Reiki healing sessions, those interested in this healing art can learn to become Master Reiki healers. People who want to become Reiki healers may complete a three-level course at Vagabond Temple. The course is designed to give aspiring healers the tools to heal themselves, chart their personal development, and heal others.

Each course includes theory, energy attunement exercises, and practical techniques. The three courses are the Shoden (Basic Level), Okuden (Advanced Level), and Shinpiden (Master Level). Complimentary morning yoga classes and evening meditations are included.

Depending on the student's ability and commitment, Shoden and Okuden levels take six days each to learn, while the Shinpiden course takes about seven days. Reiki students will receive lessons, a manual and materials, a Reiki healer certification, and unlimited tea, water, and fruits during their studies.
